Today

Today was Saturday.
This morning we went into the city to meet up with some others to watch the Wallabies vs the All Blacks. Twas groovy given that we won, and twas so unexpected. This is all of us at the pub (sans alcohol given the hour) watching the match and having breakfast. As is typical in Ireland, there was plenty of tea. If there is no booze, there is tea.
Post match we did a bit of shopping in the city and headed home. We watched Cork beat Dublin in the hurling (as expected) and then sorted out some dinner. From here it is just photos of the rest of the day.

Where we live

For those that haven't visited us (and that is most of you) here are a couple of photos of where we live:

This is Dave and Rett's house in Midleton, where we are currently living.
Ours is the little dark blue car. Midleton is about 20km from Cork City.

This is our old place in Turners Cross. Turners Cross is about 15 mins walk from the middle of Cork City. We were there from September last year until the end of May this year. It was great to live close to the the city centre as it is much easier to do things/meet up with friends.

This is the main channel of the River Lee which runs through the middle of the city, taken from right near to the end of the main street.

This is the main street of Cork City, St Patricks Street.

There you go. All up to speed.

Thank You from the bottom of my.........

Well, the response to our brand new web page has been overwhelming. I have to say that I am humbled by the way that you, the public, have taken to this site.

We have had 2 whole comments added in the first day of existence. Apologies if I am not able to get back to you all individually as I am so busy doing promotion for my latest scheme, which has the tentative working title of "Dessert". It basically involves me eating ice cream, and the response from my stomach has been exceptional.

For some reason I cant get that song about the Umbrella-ella-ella-ella out of my head. Maybe it is because the weather here has been so bad. Today was 13 and cloudy. IT IS SUMMER!! Someone needs a good slap and an official warning because they aren't doing their job properly.

I am a big fan of my new lens. It is a prime lens, and is really good at taking photos of people, animals, and flowers. I am going to call it the people, animal, and flower lens.

Now, as we have aimed this site at the pictures and words demographic, and there are some words already here (despite the debatability of their contribution to the collective literary pool), here are some pictures:

Well this is where it begins

Lets all get a blog, it is the new cool thing to do. Actually it is the old cool thing to do and I am just very slow in catching up with the cool kids.

I guess we will use this over the next little while to post photos and news of what we are up to whilst still in Ireland, and when we hit the road for our next set of travels.

I dont really know if I like the template for the page setup, but you dont get much choice really do you?

Went walking yesterday around the sheeps head peninsula, it was a nice walk and the weather was better than expected. I think it was supposed to be about 10 miles all in all, and by the end we were both ready for a good sit down.

I think that is enough text for now. Bye.
